3-Watch Thursday #41
Hello team,
Welcome to 3-Watch Thursday #41 and apologies for the lack of issue last week, I was super busy being all posh at Henley and even got papped by one Tony Traina (image below).
Let’s dive straight into what I’ve been wanting to share with you for the last few weeks!
Piaget Stone Dials
It’s safe to say that Piaget stone dials are back and are growing increasingly popular, evidenced by the uptick in resources and scholarship around them.
We’ve been spoilt in recent months with deep dives into the history of these watches and their former significance by the likes of @watchclog over at Subdial and Tony Traina at Hodinkee.
Prices appear to reflect this uptick in interest, but I appreciate the opportunity to learn more about watches I probably wasn’t aware of 18 months ago. This is certainly in keeping with the narrative that genuinely rare and interesting watches are stronger than ever combined with the hype pieces of the last few years waning in interest.

Only Watch
Many have written in the past week about Only Watch and their favourites etc etc, but this watch by Louis Moinet grabbed my attention for a slightly different reason.
Before reading the description I thought this looked awfully similar to chips on a silicon wafer; ironically enough that’s exactly what it is!
We’ve seen silicon be used in mechanical components in watches, however this elevates it to take on an artistic and visual role. Personally, it’s a stunning use of the material and I can only dream to get this in front of my camera.
In keeping with the Only Watch theme of multicolour this dial will take on a plethora of colours depending on the angle.
Hats off to them and I hope to see something like it again.
@andre.watches
In the final part of this edition this week I hope to share a creator who’s work I’m vibing with at the moment.
@andre.watches
Take a look at this Instagram reel of their work making the image above that truly looks like a Rolex advert image.
Wow!
Congrats on 4k followers Andre! You certainly deserve more!
